Vacations and more vacations

Vacations and more vacations. That's what everyone does mostly nowadays. And yes, summer holidays are meant for vacations. And there's our faithful Instagram that keeps us updated on others’ vacation plans and progresses.

We too had planned for our small vacation trip. I along with my sister and her kids were going to Borivali National Park also known as Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Ya, it doesn't sound big or spectacular, but yeah we did enjoy though with some glitch. To begin, the slow moving traffic was taking its toll and the kids were getting restless. Also. the heat was no fun and the air conditioner going on full throttle was not helping.

“Not again”, lamented my sister. Thinking it was because another car came and overtook our car, blocking our slow movement further, I ignored her wail.
“This is the third person I am seeing who is going to Bali this vacay. ‘Off to Bali’ is what I can always read on my Instagram”.

Understanding her dilemma I joined in to console her.

“What to do sis, we are in a limited budget and limited free time. No leave from work, no extra money. Dozens of other responsibilities”. And so forth we went on to discuss about our incapabilities to take a big budget trip to some exotic location.

Since attempts to change her mood seemed futile, to lighten her up I took our group selfie in the car. Waiting still for the traffic to move, I encouraged the kids to sing songs. A minute later there was a loud laughter from the backseat. The kids looked surprised at their mother and went towards her to see what was so funny.

There was our groupie pic on Instagram, and the caption read “ OFF TO BORIVALI”.

She hugged me from behind and said, “You know how to make me smile”.

Ya the mood had changed, the traffic slowly was back to normal and our small trip was going to be a happy one. Small or big, hey come on, we were having a trip too and a pic on Instagram was a must-do.
We may not always end up living life like others but living your life for others makes a huge difference.
