DIAMONDS ARE RARE
You may have
often heard people referring to someone as, “He/she is a gem of a person.”
What does being a gem indicate? It’s being what a gem is-Rare and precious.
This brings me to another quote that goes as, “One day you will realize you lost a diamond while you were busy collecting stones.” Finding the right person in your life is nothing short of finding a diamond or a gem.
As for me, I found my diamond, my precious gem long before I got married. And I found it through one of the most beautiful relationships - Friendship.
Not everyone is lucky to find a friend in your love and love in your friend. To get it is a blessing beyond words.

But the problem with diamonds is- they are very rare. So how do you find one? Though it may sound satirical, the truth is- you have to search it among the stones- The very place where you tend to lose sight of it.
But once you start searching it gets easier to find. They have a sparkle, a shine of their own. That decent behavior, a gentleman’s attitude or a lady’s demure is what attracts you and makes them stand out from the crowd. That’s what makes them different. They bring out the qualities of a gem. A little cleaning and grooming brings out the radiant brightness. Similarly, knowing more and interacting more helps you to know the true color and brilliance of a person.
Yes of course, you can get polished diamonds ready for sale up on a shelf. But they come with a price and a tag which might not always be favorable for us.
So what’s your worth when you get a diamond? You may be a diamond yourself or a 24 karat or 22 karat gold. You have your own worth, identity, your place in the society.
Now a diamond by itself is a sight to behold but to have some functionality as an ornament one has to use it with gold. But yet another problem with diamonds is they don’t go well with other diamonds or for that matter with 24 and 22 karat gold too. They tend to break and scratch each other or drop off.
They go well with an 18 or 14 karat gold. So what do you do now? Do you discard the precious diamond thinking it won’t suit you? Do you start searching for stones again to maintain your value?
No! You don’t do any of these. Doing them won’t help you in the long run. All you have to do is reduce your worth. Leave those 24 and 22 karat and embrace the 18 and 14 karat. Melt those egos, negativeness away.
People might only see the shining diamond and not the gold holding it. But the diamond knows it is safe and secure with you, and you, the 18 karat gold very well know that no matter what people might see, say or think about your worth, you are holding a diamond close to your heart.
